Times were difficult at the end of World War II, there was hardly any trade and people were out of work. Peter Bodum managed to wholesale a very small range of products by manufacturers of household appliances Danish. After the war, Peter Bodum has an import license for kitchen products and tableware;'ve traveled all over Europe and ended up importing kitchen and housewares to Denmark. As in the rest of Europe in those days, the lack of products in Denmark meant a market existed for almost anything to be vendido.Ele specializes in glassware from Eastern Europe. In the '50s Peter Bodum started developing his own products. Collaborated with the Danish architect Kaas Klaeson for a series of coffee. At the same time, industrial design type kitchen products are very rare. The first Bodum product to hit the market in 1958 was the Santos coffeemaker - based on a system of vacuum coffee brewers. Became an instant sensation, not only in Denmark but across Europe. Bodum still produces the original Santos design to this day. Bodum grew during the 60s, but unfortunately, in 1967, aged just 57, Peter Bodum passed away. His wife ran the company until 1974, when she offered her 26-year-old son Joergen to join her in managing the company. Joergen quickly brought on board Carsten Joergensen - then a professor at the Danish School of Art in Copenhagen - and soon put him in charge of the overall project for Bodum, including everything from products to corporate design, exhibitions, shops, buildings, catalogs, and advertising. It turned out to be very long and fruitful collaboration. The two men began to fulfill Bodum's credo - "good design need not be expensive" - in many different ways. In 1974, the first fruit of Joergen and Carsten collaboration was introduced: the French coffee press Bistro. It was also the first incorporation of the new Bodum design language - beautiful simplicity and excellent materials for everyday life. Many more variations of coffee presses followed. Since 1974 Bodum has produced more than 50 million French presses, taken the leap from "coffee" to "kitchen" and developed and produced a wide variety of home designs and beautiful table. In 1979, when he took over the company, Joergen Bodum decided to move to Switzerland in order to be more centrally located in Europe. He chose the Lucerne area, where Bodum head office was located since the early 80s. In 1980 Bodum Switzerland and its design unit, Pi-Design, were founded. Then, in 1986, the opening of Bodum's first shop in London marked another milestone in the Bodum history. It is designed not only to be the perfect showcase for the wide variety of Bodum products but to incorporate an even stronger presentation of Bodum as an international brand. Many more shops in many other cities around the world followed: Paris, Copenhagen, Zurich, Lucerne, Tokyo, New York, Dallas, Okinawa, Auckland, and many more. To date there are 52 stores around the world Bodum. With more and more of its own stores in place, Bodum continued broadening its collection, beautifully designed everyday life - from the kitchen. Today Bodum offers its customers all the latest in coffee and tea products for table, kitchen, textiles, bathroom, office and household goods. Some stores also have a café where Bodum own selection of coffees and teas. The Bodum Group is, and always has been, a family of 100 percent ownership of the business. Today the company operates in 14 countries, with over 700 employees worldwide todo.Bodum is holding in Denmark and Switzerland as well as 12 sales companies, 3 production companies, and a design company called Bodum Design Group, located in Switzerland. .. ..

This 'thing ", as far as I'm concerned, is junk, and maybe a coffee-growing step bum ', you know coffee and boiling water, let's settle the grounds and that a drink. Actually, I prefer to be the hobo style to go through the ritual of this case requires. I have reservations about all the five stars listed and misled the .... out of me! Nothing good to say about it! RGB
I like my press Prancis and anticipate more and more uses for it, like my variety of tastes in coffee shops is still unfolding. I 'm still uncertain, however, its full value in my enjoyment of gourmet coffees.
I'm hooked on these machines French! I use for my tea. I like this one, unlike with an infusion pump and plastic parts. My stay was far beyond, as it 's not stuck in a small space. When the plunger is pressed, all the tea leaves stay low and you have a perfect pot of tea. I put the whole pot in the dishwasher (It 's hard to remove the glass pane of the plastic casing) I just love it!
This French Press is great. Compared to my old one, which is plastic, it is particularly great because it Bodum glass and doesn 't absorb the musty smell of coffee as much.
Not much to go wrong if it here 's broken in the box. Very nice French press, if you 't mind the plastic tip and don the glass. Highly recommended.
This is the first French press that we had. You have to do some 'math when it comes to what coffee to use. t hard, but you don 'must not be 100% accurate - it is not rocket science. R rI can 't speak for the taste compared to the classical model. But I think this design is more stable and keeps the hood hot for a longer time. R rit now is our ritual every weekend to make a cup of coffee with it!
Bodum is already a trusted brand, especially for French presses. The new design offers Kenya a unique design to a fundamental coffee lover 's staple. I bought a Bodum bc it is of good quality and I bought purely for the new design Kenya. I am very satisfied on appearance and performance.
I love this French press. I 've had two other run (Good morning), but they have the plastic nut on the stem and filter as other reviewers said, it takes very easily. Don buy 't in press (Bodum or not) that has this plastic nut ... you 'll be sorry. I bought the Bonjour BECAUSE IT WAS about $ 10 cheaper, it is two times within a couple of months, then purchased the Bodum for your own metal nut. I 've owned my current Bodum Chambord 8 cup for more than two years without any problems. I kept the filters of the other two to spare! R ras extent that keep the coffee hot - I mama ma 'and can never finish a cup while it ' s hot! - After a beer and immediately pour the coffee into a thermos (with a balloon glass) or a thermos stainless steel and stays warm for hours. R rBuy your coffee freshly ground, setting the coarse and you'll love the clarity "coffee (less sediment and foundations) and the taste is incomparable. Who needs Starbucks when you can brew great coffee at home like this?
I REALLY HAPPY WITH MY BODUM KENYA OF 34-OUNCE. IT WORTH EVERY PENNY, WITH THE FIRST - BODUM I WAS SO dissapointed, BUT VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS ONE .... I AM HAPPY THANK YOU SO MUCH
I've had this for a couple of weeks now and it works great. It 'sa good size for a cup or 3 cups of good size. I Don 't really worry about dirt getting between the glass and the holder, while the inside is clean ... So far, it seems difficult to break, but I 'm sure that with thin glass will eventually happen. For now, it looks good and works super.
This product works well, works as advertised and does a very good coffee quickly. Since the purchase of this article we have seen similar items costing less ... maybe not the same quality, but that's the only reason Will not you 't give a total of 5 stars. Maybe this should be a 4 1 / 2 stars. If you decide to purchase this article I 'm pretty sure it will be very happy with it and is full, you should give many years of good service and, as I said, you make a good coffee.
This product seems to be fine. It makes good coffee, though I haven 't been able to figure out how to separate the black from the base glass yet.
These are great. Taste very soft and easy to use. This is my 2nd one. One for me one for my wife. I recommend anyone who likes coffee.
Wow, I 've been missing out. My coffee doesn 't taste more bitter. I wish my old coffee maker broke a long period in August Just be very careful of the glass canister. Its delicate.
Apparently as soon as I put the hot liquid to press it, I can not get a hot cup of coffee. If it is insulated, I think would be better.
I bought this thinking it would make a great gift for Father 's Day A friend has a different brand and I thought the price, this would be nice ... wrong. I do not 't like the idea that there was no way to gauge the platform (help) for water and plastic holder is not as strong. You really should be careful to wash (I recommend hand washing). Although it seems quick and easy - Meeting with my old coffee took about the same time. Have used at least 4 times not - really mad. Why we gave it 2 stars is that the taste of coffee was a bit stronger and tasty - but not worth the time or cleaning.
love it! used with tea bags and coffee very regular and it worked great! no more sorrow!
Before I tried coffee brewed using a French press, I had no idea that it could be strong yet not bitter. Who knew? " I thought only coffee shops had that magic power. A friend and fellow coffee addict turned me onto the press idea and I figured I 'd try ordering off Amazon this Bodum Because it came well-rated (and was the same price as WalMart ' s generic brand press.) I honestly can not be happier. It produces a FABULOUS pot of coffee and the tiny bit of extra effort w / grinding my own beans, heating the water, and hand-washing is definitely well worth it. R rI was wary at first of the faulty manufacturing & glass beaker warnings of other reviewers, but I 've used it at least a dozen times since I purchased it and have had no problems whatsoever. I don 't put mine in the dishwasher though. It seems sturdy and well-constructed in my opinion. . . . and I like the design. that 's always a plus. r rthe only thing I wished I ' d known before I bought it, or at least before I used it. I was using the 8oz = 1cup measurement and didn 't realize that didn ' t apply to this. Could 've been helped by reading. To any who are a bit confused by the oz / cup ratios, this comfortably holds about 16 oz or 2 cups of water (over the coffee grounds.) But it 's perfect for me as long as I ' m not for brewing guests too. r rBottom line: I 'm very pleased (and glad I didn ' t shell out twice as much for one of the more expensive models Bodum.:))
If you like your coffee straight and strong, the French press is the only way to do it. Ppress French coffee is never bitter. It is impossible to burn coffee in a French press. You can too weak, but it 's almost impossible to make too strong. What 's great about this Bodum coffee is that ' s all plastic. So just fill with water, microwave for 6 to 6 1 / 2 minutes or until the water boils, put three heaping tablespoons of coffee in it. Stir it. Let stand for a couple of minutes. Hunda and drink. The best coffee you 'll ever taste.
Very attractive and very functional. I keep it out all the time and use it quite often. It works really well and the extra outside covering makes it less apt to break. It has a good seal and the coffee tastes wonderful of course made from a French press. Great deal!
Dear friends, my coffee. I don 't buy Folgers, and I take the time to make it into a French press. This is making by far the best way to get a cup of coffee. I bought the device as a replacement for the pitcher that I like. Strangely, the pitcher is more expensive than buying a new press. It takes about 10 minutes to return a "pot " of the coffee, which is about 30 ounces. Five for Five for cooking and standing. R press rNewcomers to: Don 't drink the last sip!
Disassembles for easy cleaning. Super easy to use! Was much lower in price than at local stores too.
I bought a French press to replace my drip coffee maker, not because I hate drip coffee, but because I wanted to stop wasting disposable filters. r RSO, of course, I went on Amazon to see what the top-selling models were. And I bought this instead of the Bodum Chambord as this model was not less than half the price (sure how long that will be the case) and still had good reviews. The major cost savings are in the Use of a plastic handle and holder (all one piece) for the body and the lid - the glass and metal plunger appear to be the same as the other models Bodum. One reviewer mentioned this model uses a plastic nut in the plunger assembly. I verified that, but really, it seems highly unlikely that nut will be a failure point. R rTheir use of plastics is fine in my book. This model feels sturdy and well put together. Plus, matte black plastic like this is a little easier to clean (in my opinion). The design is also quite unique, making this visually distinct from all the other French presses out there. R rAs another reviewer pointed out, the glass fits pretty snugly into the holder and you should be careful when separating the two - it takes a good bit of effort, starts to move a little, then suddenly comes apart. My advice is to simply reverse which way you hold it to take it apart. I think the general instinct is to pull the plastic body towards you in one hand and the glass away from you in the other hand. That brings the risk of flinging the glass out of your hand. Instead, pull the glass towards you and pull the plastic body away from you. If the holder goes flying, no problem - it 's plastic. R rMaybe this is a non-issue though as separating the two isn ' t necessary for cleaning unless you happen to get some grounds spilled over the sides. r rAlso, some people mentioned it doesn 't keep the coffee hot. I haven 't had this problem, though I always heat my water in a pot on the stovepot If you just heat water in the microwave, it doesn ' t get nearly as hot, and yes, it will only be " warm "after letting the coffee sit for 4 minutes to brew. So skip the microwave. R rand, oh yeah, it makes good coffee:) And no more paper filters so I 'm very happy.
