Description
The 8.5 ounces Bodum Pavina glass double wall can be used for hot or cold beverages. Its unique design is appealing to the eye when filled with your favorite drink. With its double layer of borosilicate glass, it seems that the liquid is floating within the glass. They will not sweat when filled with a cool drink, so you do not use a coaster. The double wall creates a thermal effect, helping to keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks warm for long periods of time. These mouth blown glasses are an attractive product for any home, restaurant or cafe and they are a topic of conversation determined. Bodum glass insulation is made of durable borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is strong heat resistant glass traditionally used for manufacturing glass laboratory science. Stronger than traditional "soda-lime" glass, borosilicate glass can be used for any drink Ware cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of soda and lime used in the glass daily. Acts of boron oxide as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to the small size of boron particles, the glass is kept tight, resulting in stronger, lighter glass. Borosilicate glass need not be as thick as traditional glass to be as strong due to the ability of the boron oxide bonding. Borosilicate is simply another type of glass that is resistant to temperature changes and deletions. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass resistant to temperature changes, plus dishwasher is borosilicate-SAFE will not become cloudy over time, you can be assured that, after 1000 cycles, the glass will be clear as the day you bought it. With futuristic looks and high-tech construction, Bodum Pavina Ware's drink is interesting departure from traditional glass. The walls of each vessel are made from two layers of clear glass, creating an optical illusion that liquid is suspended inside. Softening the look, shape Pavina's Feature silhouettes, rounded tip. The inner wall also curves slightly away from the outer wall for a touch of elegance. This set of two double old fashioned / Tumbler glasses serves anything Minty mojitos to hot cocoa. Coated borosilicate glass, which is also used to make scientific lab equipment, the pair is exceptionally strong, light and heat. Both layers also resists heat and prevents condensation, so no matter what temperature the beverage is, the glasses remain comfortable to hold and safely to any table. Winner of the prestigious European IF Design Award, this 9 oz, scratch-resistant set also goes into the dishwasher and microwave. Mix and match Pavina with the Assam and Canteen lines to document the bar or dining table with a variety of fun shapes. Note - Kara Karlla Editor: Because the glasses are mouth blown, each may have slight variations in height, thickness and weight. Bodum recommends the use of medical care when placing ice into the glass to avoid fracturing the inner layer. Do not use metal spoons or place the glass into a crowded dishwasher.
Reviews
These glasses are Way Cool. Whenever friends come to visit and serve me up expressed in these glasses, always complimented me on them. Especially, when asked if they can get a mountain of glass and I say, it 's BC does not need the "double wall " of the cup! Hot, cold, doesn 't Matter design keeps drinks well insulated.
Beautiful and functional, but extraordinarily fragile. I love the double wall glasses and have bought a number of the Bodum Canteen style for our house as well as given the Heavier Handled Coffee Mugs as gifts. But the reality is that these are meant to be seen and not used, unless you consider them disposable. I bought 8 of these 12 oz Pavin as I was running out of the canteens - I have 3 left out of the 6 I bought. The Pavin have not done well. Out of the 8 there are only 2 left. They were purchased about 8 months ago. R rand not, we 're not particularly accident prone. These things just break. If you set them down wrong or bump them with another dish can they crack. I 've had even break them in the dishwasher, maybe from loading them too close together. R rThe reason is fairly simple: they blow these out of glass that is simply too thin. So I 'm not buying any more. Which kind of breaks my heart because they 're so very cool, I think they are the most attractive double wall glasses I ' ve seen, and they really do keep things cold longer cold and hot things hot and they do 't Sweat. But I 'm done. The canteens seem slightly more robust but the Pavin are just hopeless. I only give them two stars because they 're so beautiful. Bodum: you must use thicker glass. R RI May try some of the Bodum Coffee Mugs with Handles myself, though they don 't hold as much. I 've given sets of 4 to my parents and my brother, and I don ' t believe in are broken yet. They are made of much Heavier glass. R RI also saw some non-brand Bodum double wall glasses in a fine local tea shop. They seemed to be made of glass then the slightly Heavier Pavin. Not sure what the brand was.
I absolutely love the glasses! However I who break a couple of them and ordered more but when it arrived had looked rubber sticker below which I immediately removed only to find a note in the box telling me not remove it! Well it turns out that the cups are now made with a small hole underneath and the rubber piece covers it. Now my glasses were ruined because when I wash them in the dishwasher gets dirty water in the insulated area that doesn 't go out without a lot of shaking and wicking with a paper towel in the leaves dirty glass. I 'm not sure why they changed how they do their glasses to me the purpose rubber patch below takes away from the beauty and enjoyment of the beautiful glass.
I've recently bought to replace a number received from Pavina glasses, broke that. (They are possible to break and it happens sometimes, but I haven 't found them to be unduly brittle.) R rHowever to make the Amazon site doesn ' t clear that the design of this product has to changed. I thought I knew what I always do, because I heard the exact same product, but apparently not. Hit R rBodum has an elegant, functional design and made it look worse and feel cheap. They have a silicon valve at the bottom of the cup, for some reason I can conceive added 't. It certainly wasn 't To improve the product, though. It now looks like a bulky plastic sticker is fixed to the bottom of the cup and found it unattractive bulges into the interior of the vacuum compartment. It feels even worse. Instead of gliding onto your fingers as well, glass, feels the valve feels sticky and plastic. I haven 't had had problems with the water through the valve into the vacuum chamber as it sounds like, but I definitely don ' t put them in the dishwasher. They also had the writing on the bottom of the jar to distribute, to make room for that stupid valve, and has more text to see the whole floor cluttered. R rWhat can I say? I 'm Bodum are disappointed that quality is sacrificed on one of my favorite products. The crux of this task was the elegant simplicity of the glass. With a design, what are the details really matter.
These probably should 't claim to be dishwasher. This is more likely that they broke. A somehow totally broke and the other had cracks around the entire glass. Kinda cheap. There 's really no point in buying these.
Dang, I thought the pressure valve actually do something. After I served coffee, tea and milk, I put the spoon to stir and I heard a small explosion. Then, all the coffee boiled down to the camera. He served out to see what happened, there was a perfectly round dime-size hole in the bottom center. R GH 've wanted these cups for years and never ' ve been so disappointed with glass! R RI read the comments that break the glasses of iced tea, too. What you are supposed to make a warm drink in these drinks? R GH love how it seems ... but if a cup doesn 't work (such as a CUP does not work!?) Well, that ' s just do not get more than one star.
Almost 2 years ago we started with 20 of these glasses, but fell to less than half. They are highly aesthetic, light, functional and a pleasure, but I just wish they were not so fragile. I 'd say that all calls ' close 'finally takes its toll on any given glass. Now ... all that combined with customers who think Occaisional 're plastic ... and now I need to buy more or less. Amazon tends to be very Careless with the packaging. I got the break with Amazon. Other online vendors have been more attentive to the shipment kitchen universe ie.
I absolutely love these glasses. I use them everyday for my hot tea. I love that the glass doesn 't get too hot to carry. And they seem to keep my tea hotter longer than other cups / glasses. I would have given these 5 stars except for the fact that they are very fragile. I 'm very careful with mine. I don 't use a spoon in them. I wash them by hand and keep them separate from the other dishes when drying. With that said, I did break one of them about a month after I got them (my own fault ... I tipped one over and it fell into the sink). If you are careful with them they are fantastic. I plan on buying more. The 12 ounce size seems perfect for most uses ... I know I 'll probably stick with that when I order more.
While still cold glass, the glass breaks so much like a lump of something. If it is not good.
Bodum does not offer a guarantee on their products. The stopper in the bottom left after one use. I called and told me nothing wrong. Now my glasses are in the trash and I 'ma $ 30.
I love these glasses they are great in keeping things cold / hot while still being able to be held. R rthe are definitely fragile though, we lost one on the first day when it tipped over on the table it was sitting on.
I bought a pair of these for my husband and about a year ago, because they are so beautiful. After a career as an artist / teacher I like to use objects aesthetically pleasing day to day (I never could afford a Ferrari, but I admire them). I can have access to these glasses and I must say that they work very well! Temps liquids are kept longer and they feel good to hold. I'm buying multiple variations and a bottle soon. For those who can 't have to spend a little extra care in cleaning and caring for them, true to his Chevys.
We started with about 6 cups of this and now we 're the second in less than one year. They are really beautiful and we get many compliments on them, but they broke very, very easy! Even just putting them through the dishwasher has led one to rest. And when they break - oh boy! Confused. They destroyed the place. Being a small, small pieces.
I have many Bodum double-walled glasses and have always been with them, until now, very happy. The current contract, which are made in China, water retention between the 2 walls. Looks terrible. Bodum Sorry, but the quality control is gone. WARNING!
I 'm rating this product five stars, because Amazon has combined reviews for at least five different products - and each certainly deserves at least one star. R rBefore you respond or accept any revision to these products, know that the reviewer may be talking about a different product. R rthe way you can be sure that the reviewer is talking about the same product is to click on the comment (s) link in the review, go to the top of the page and look for the image in the top right corner. R rThanks to break the review system, the Amazon. Looking at the reviews of a star, a good number of them seem to be 21 ounce glasses of iced tea. So maybe the 9 ounces tumblers deserve a higher rating - but it 'll never know unless we click on each review to verify that the product broke / didn ' t break / leaked, and record the results of ourselves . R rsort of defeats the purpose of an evaluation system that doesn 't it?
Well in humid climates, preventing condensation from cold drinks the water surface so it could ruin coasters wood. No condensation at all. No coaster needed.
These are beautifully thin, light-weight glass and perfect for my white wine! Every glass sweats in Houston and I am really tired of having to wrap a paper towel around my glass of wine so I bought them. No more paper towels ... Perfect!
This product is dangerous and not well made. Broke in less than a month, the two glasses. One fell from the table and shattered everywhere. The second crack in the interior, the liquid went into the liner, and it was a broken piece on the floor, I nearly choked. I would definitely not recommend this product.
Pro 's: Cool looking, keeps espresso warm, loose (probably closer to a 2.3 oz vol) r rCons: fragile (one drop is all necessary), not good for pouring another class (ie, pulling shots for the latte, Americano, etc.) r ri own 4 of them (up to 3) and because I rarely drink espresso straight from the glass, I 'll be go a more functional replacement use on a regular basis and save them to pull out when the neighbors come to ...
I ordered the version 9 ounces six months ago to use with my daily tea and my occasional Scotch. I am pleased with my purchase, and why it is here: r r-borosilicate glass, in addition to being strong, is less likely to be stained by coffee or detergent. Six months later, I can confirm: no spots whatsoever. R-The double walled design keeps beverages hot (my tea) hot longer and prevents condensation at keeping drinks cold. R-Can for hot drinks, without the glass cracking. Not only am I literally almost spilled boiling tea, but the double wall to maintain the cool outside. R-dishwasher (but good sense, because even the borosilicate glass is still glass). I am almost always hand wash. R-handmade in China. R-Beautiful design. R rthe one small disappointment, but I got over it, is the first 'Feel ' glasses. Simply looking at the glasses, you can expect something heavy, like crystal, but they are not. C 's not surprising, since the walls are not solid glass, but two thin layers of extra strong glass with air in between. They also Don 't ' Sound 'crystal. So, if the weight and noise Don 't bother you, they are great glasses. R ri must confess, one of 2 glasses broke a couple of years ago - someone dropped it - which left me with one drink since. I am about to order another pair now, just in case.
My husband and I recently did a remodeling $ 200,000-plus kitchen / dining room, demolition of walls and open to the entire area for entertaining. The style is quite modern. Part of this is a walnut desk 13 feet, where our guests can sit on bar stools in leather, sipping their drinks, gourmet cooking and watching my husband do his thing with hors d 'works and more. My husband lovingly and painstakingly finished walnut countertop itself so that it shone like glass. R RWE has discovered the Bodum glasses at a friend 's Trade and realized they would be perfect for our new kitchen. Because of the double layer of glass, they do not sweat napkin rings and leave on the counter, even if a customer fails to use a coaster or cocktail. So not only look cool, they ... and compliment our new modern kitchen with its sleek, fluid suspension of style ... but they are also easy on our beautiful, hand-finished walnut cons. We still have a few more flowers (and more expensive) glasses crystal whiskey, but now we keep in our family room, where the surfaces are less vulnerable. R RAS to the delicacy of these glasses, as others have complained about ... They are made of glass! HELLO! The glass may break. I put in my dishwasher for almost two years now, and there was no problem whatsoever. Once or twice I accidentally snapped one against a valve or something, and it broke. Boo hoo! So I have to go online and order two more ridiculous price of $ 14.95 (for two). (That 's why I ' m here now.) Crystal glasses we normally use (and which would leave rings on the counter) has beaten at least as easily and cost over four times more expensive to replace. R RSO ... If you are not currently using glass, plastic, or wait for these glasses behave like plastic, and if you can afford to replace a broken glass occasionally for about $ 7.00, I don 't tell these glasses. You will present your guests with a cool drink and looking will not punish them for not using a coaster ... especially if you actually surfaces that you care (not-as formica). R rApparently these glasses are not covered by earth people usually end ... And what could be a better recommendation than that?
Lovely glasses, a little smaller than I thought they would. I can say that they are delicate, so handle with care. I am satisfied with this product and would buy more if a little less expensive.
These glasses are great for espresso, as loses heat very little. I was a tad worried based on the thinness of the walls, but it 's Surprisingly Sturdy. The only item I don 't like (but this is purely preference) is that they are very light and I prefer a little' more Heft. R rThey are also very beautiful to see.
The idea of this double wall of large glasses. I live in Hawaii and used to drink from the glass is always messy. Condensation trusted. And these glasses don 't even leave a ring on the table. But, there is a big but. They are very fragile. In fact, the last order I received contained two broken glasses. And replacement orders are also damaged when I receive it. My advice is to look for glasses in the shop and carefully bring them home alone. I have another set and older, and violates one of them just by placing an Ice Cube in the glass. So the ice cubes should be placed gently by hand (or clips) at the bottom of the glass.
